Bishop Joseph Afrifah-Agyekum and Bishop Peter Kwaku Atuahene arrived on Monday, 19th August 2013 in the afternoon and shall be leaving on Thursday, 22nd August 2013.
They are on a special mission in Germany and decided to pay a short visit to our community. Even though there was no Sunday of Friday within the period of their visit, the Mass of Friday, 23rd August was shifted to Wednesday 21st August 2013, to make it possible for the Community to celebrate at least a Holy Mass with them.
The Mass started at 7:00 pm and was attended by about 25 community members both youth and adults. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Peter Kwaku Atuahene, with Bishop Joseph Afrifa-Agyekum, Rev. Fr. Matthew Owusu-Manu, Rev. Fr. Michael Odartey-Lamptey and Rev Fr. Peter Adoko Enchil as Concelebrants. In his homily, Bishop Atuahene urged the community to hold top their belief and to encourage their children to keep to the Catholic Church and maintain peace and love among themselves.
He preached much about the life and the teachings of Pope Pius X. It was a great pleasure having them as guests of the Community and Rev. Fr. Matthew Owusu-Manu, in Charge of the community expressed his sincere gratitude for their visit. The Catechist, Mr. Ernest Ampadu expressed on behalf of the Community his appreciation to the Bishops for their prompt acceptance to celebrate an unplanned Mass with the community and wish them a save and comfortable journey back home.
He added that they should convey the community´s greetings to the Bishops´ Conference of Ghana and concluded that their visit has brought a lot of Blessings and honour to the community. Ghanaian Priest and Bishops visiting Europe are in future heartily and warmly welcomed.
